I absoutely love my host family. We have lunch and dinner togethere almost every day and my spanish has improved immensly. I live with a single mom and her and I are very close. We talk about everything which especially helps broaden my spanish vocabulary! My homestay experience has been incredible so far. The home cooked meals are phenomenal as well. My cousin came to visit me 2 weekends ago and she fell in love with Alicante. She currently lives in Munich, which is very cold, so coming to Alicante for the weekend was the best vaccacion shes had in years! She had heard very little of the city before coming and fell in love with it just like me when she got here! I went to the archeology museum, castillo, beach and different tapas while she was here! So far Alicante has been wonderful and can't wait to write more about it :)

Hola to everyone reading this! I just wanted to write about a class I took at CIEE that I really enojyed. It's officially called "Advanced Conversational Spanish: Registers and Colloquial Uses", which in regular english means learning everyday-type Spanish lingo/phrases/how to talk to your new friends in Spanish. The prof, Belen Alvarado, is really great. She has taught me so much colloquial Spanish that I have been using with native Spanairds and sometimes they are surprised that I know a phrase like that! Its neat. Belen teaches the class with a really fun and relaxed attitude, which made me forget that the class was at 9 am! I would just say that I recommend this class because of all the great phrases I've learned and also the random bits of information about Alicante I've learned from Belen. If you want to learn how to talk Spanish the way the Alicantinos do, I recommend this class !!! ;)
